Fig. 1. Mali Radinci, drone photo. The school is marked with an arrow; on the right is the church dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker; in the background rises the Fruška Gora mountain (539 m) (https://sr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Мали_Радинци). The school is a branch of the “Zmaj Jova Jovanović” Elementary School in Ruma (principal: Žaklina Negovanović), known for the fact that Mileva Marić, the wife of Albert Einstein, attended its first grades.
Fig. 2. Plan of the central part of Mali Radinci (https://a3.geosrbija.rs/) and a photograph of the school: arrows show the position of the sundial. The school building was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century and is oriented exactly according to the cardinal directions, which made possible the construction of direct south-facing dials (A = 90°).
Fig. 3. Mali Radinci, September 24, 2025: the school craftsmen at work. Everything needed was prepared in time, so the installation of the sundial lasted a record 45 minutes. A stylized solar disk was added to the eastern side of the dial plate only to achieve visual balance.
Fig. 4. Group portrait: pupils of the elementary school in Mali Radinci with their teacher Katarina Krstonošić (foto. Vesna Feltencer). Behind them is the sundial, which will serve them well as a practical teaching aid in lessons related to time and spatial orientation.
Fig. 5. The sundial in Mali Radinci belongs not only to the school but also to the entire village, as a public sundial.
